Introduction

St. Jacob Orthodox Church is a community of believers from all walks of life seeking salvation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Founded in 2003 with a handful of Orthodox Christians, visiting priests came to lead the Divine Services from time to time. It has grown to a much more substantial parish, with an assigned priest, and regular services. Like our patron saint, St. Jacob of Alaska, our parish seeks to bring the ancient Christian faith to a new place and to establish it, that it may be a hospital for the sick, a safe haven for the storm-tossed, and a garden of delight for those seeking communion with God.

Throughout America, Orthodox Churches from a number of Old World countries have established communities of believers: Greek, Russian, Serbian, and others. St. Jacob is made up of people from many backgrounds, Americans from various ethnic and religious experiences, who have converted to the true faith. We welcome those new to Orthodoxy, as well as Orthodox Christians from any culture: Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, or elsewhere.
